Raga Roots: Mysore Brothers

  • Rubin Museum of Art 150 West 17th Street New York, NY, 10011 United States (map)

Sri Mysore Nagaraj and Dr. Mysore Manjunath are groundbreaking violinists, known for their artistic imagination, heartfelt expression, and breathtaking virtuosity. The brothers serve as gurus of a core member of Brooklyn Raga Massive and offer inspiration to many in the New York City–based collective, leading them to present this special event.

This evening of South Indian music promises astounding virtuosity, sophisticated compositions, and powerful emotion. The Mysore Brothers are recognized as the leading violinists in Carnatic (South Indian) music and have been making waves since their earliest performances at 8 years of age. They are accompanied by the explosive rhythm section of Patri Satish Kumar and Ghatam Giridhar Udupa.
