Description:
Vrinda Acharya is a dynamic vocalist and music scholar based in Bangalore, India. Vrinda's melliflous voice and authentic rendering of classical ragas, coupled with a vast repertoire from the Carnatic songbook make her a rising star in the younger generation of Carnatic musicians. Vrinda is joined on violin by BRM co-founder Arun Ramamurthy.

WORKSHOP:
The beauty of Carnatic music can be found in its compositions. The "trinity" of Saint Thyagaraja, Muthuswami Dikshitar and Shyama Sastri were all contemporaries, and created masterpieces that will last forever. In this workshop, Vrinda Acharya discusses the lives of these legendary composers, what made they similar and different, and present musical examples from each.
